"I had to use the toilets at Gatwick..."
I had to use the toilets at Gatwick and they were in a rough state. The floor was wet, a few cubicles had no toilet paper, and the smell was really not great.

The sink area wasn’t much better, just messy overall, and I’m fairly sure a couple of the hand dryers weren’t working either. For an airport that size, you’d expect it to be a bit more under control.
I get that it gets busy, and maybe I caught them at a bad time, but it did feel like they hadn’t been checked in quite a while. Not exactly what you want before getting on a flight.

"Website made everything more stressful"
I tried using the website to check parking and flight info, but it was such a hassle. It was slow on my phone, the menus felt all over the place, and I kept worrying I was clicking the wrong thing or getting led into some confusing upsell or outdated info. When you’re already stressed about travel, the last thing you want is to feel like you might be getting fooled by a messy site. I gave up and just used Google instead.

"Honestly, Not Worth It"
I wasn’t too impressed. The food and drinks felt overpriced, and there really wasn’t much to them. I expected a bit more for what they’re charging.

"Quick check-in and easy bag drop"
Check-in went smoothly. The bag drop moved quicker than I thought it would, which was a nice surprise. I did get a little turned around at one point, but the staff pointed me in the right direction right away. The queues weren’t perfect, sure, but overall it was a good experience

"Security was faster than I expected"
I only waited about 15 minutes, which wasn’t bad. I usually don’t put much faith in customer service to keep things moving, so I was surprised it went as smoothly as it did

"Easy enough parking at Gatwick, though I’m torn"
I booked the airport parking through Gatwick Airport and, to be fair, it was all straightforward. I usually stick with another parking company out of habit, so I wasn’t sure if I’d regret trying Gatwick’s own option, but it was mostly smooth. The car park was easy to find, the barrier picked up my number plate straight away, and the bus to the terminal turned up quickly. The only small gripes were that the spaces felt a bit tight and it took a few minutes to get out when leaving. Overall though, it did the job well, and I’d probably use it again even if I do feel a bit disloyal to my usual place

"The signs were confusing"
I ended up getting lost twice because the signs weren’t clear at all. I kept thinking I was going the right way and then somehow wasn’t, yeah, that part was weird

"Total sardine-can situation"
The terminal was a complete crowd-fest. People everywhere, barely any room to walk, and good luck finding somewhere to sit. The queue parade was happening in every direction, which made the whole pre-flight vibe way more stressful than it needed to be. Not exactly a great airport experience — they seriously need to sort out the crowd control.

"Train was fine, buses were a bit of a pain"
Getting there by train was easy, so no complaints on that part. The bus connections, though, were a little frustrating and felt slower than they needed to be. It was manageable, but not exactly the smoothest experience.

"Helpful staff, but a bit slow to find"
I had a fairly decent experience at Gatwick overall. The staff I did manage to speak to were friendly and pointed me in the right direction when I was looking a bit lost, which I appreciated.

The downside was that it took quite a while to actually find someone available, and a couple of people seemed a bit rushed when I asked for help. Still, once I got assistance it was useful enough, so I’d say it was okay overall — not amazing, but not terrible either.

"Flight info wasn’t very accurate"
I checked gatwickairport.com before heading out and it said my flight was on time, but once I got to the airport it was already delayed. The screens there were showing something different too, which was frustrating. It made planning a bit stressful, and I ended up waiting around way longer than I’d expected. The site’s easy enough to use, but the flight info really needs to be updated quicker.

"I had a good wander around the..."
I had a good wander around the shops at Gatwick before my flight. There was a decent selection, so I managed to pick up some snacks and even a last-minute gift without any stress. Prices were a bit on the high side, but that’s kind of expected at an airport. Still, it was a nice way to pass the time before flying

"A bit grubby for such a big airport"
Went through Gatwick recently it felt messier than I expected. The toilets had paper all over the place and a few tables in the food area were sticky, which just put me off. For an airport that busy and well-known, I was kind of thinking, why is it so complicated to keep the basics clean? Expected better, to be honest.

"Bags came out really quick"
Got off the plane and my bags were already coming out pretty much right away. No waiting, no hassle, all good, all good.

"The special assistance just wasn’t good..."
The special assistance just wasn’t good. I needed a bit of proper support, and it felt messy and poorly handled. If you have accessibility needs, I wouldn’t really count on them to make things easy...

"Queues weren’t as bad as I remembered"
I went through Gatwick last week and, from what I remember, the whole queue situation was better than I was expecting. The security line looked long at first, but it kept moving along and staff were actually directing people to the right lanes, which helped. Check-in had a bit of a wait, but not enough to really bother me. It wasn’t perfect, but compared with some airport experiences I’ve had, it felt fairly organised.
